Club Internal Competitions

The competitions were managed and organised by the Club Chairman Mr Gordon Agar and the Secretary Mr Vince Classen, they are also responsible for issuing of players handicaps.  These incumbents will be changed for 2018.  

The Club Championship, 2017 Champion, Fred Fletcher

Open to all male players of the club. This is a straight knock-out competition, played between two players, with 4 woods, first to 21 points.

The Ladies Club Championship, 2017 Champion, Joan Rodgerson

Open to all female players of the club. This is a straight knock-out competition, played between two players, with 4 woods, first to 21 points.

The Veterans Championship, 2017 Champion, Ian Whorlton

Open to all male players of the club (aged 60 or over). This is a straight knock-out competition, played between two players, with 4 woods, first to 21 points.

The Presidents Prize, 2017 winner, Susan Forster

Open to all male and female members of the club. This is a handicap competition and the handicaps will be added to the fixtures sheet following the draw. A straight knock-out competition, played between two players, with 4 woods, first to 21 points.

The Surtees Taylor, 2017 winner, Susan Forster

Open to all male and female members of the club. This is a handicap competition and the handicaps will be added to the fixtures sheet following the draw. A straight knock-out competition, played between two players, with 4 woods, first to 21 points.

The Best of Three, 2017 winner, Ken Briscoe

Open to all male and female members of the club. This is a straight knock-out competition, played between two players, with 4 woods, There are three sets of seven ends.

The Club Pairs, 2017 winners, John Godfrey & Ken Briscoe

Open to all male and female members of the club. This is a straight knock-out competition, played between two pairs of players, with 4 woods each. This competition has a handicap element where the handicap of each player in the pair is added together and averaged out. Then the two pairs are then worked out against each other and then it is the pair who reaches 21 first wins.

Open to all male and female members of the club who have never won a singles competition at any club. This is a competition, played between two players, with 4 woods, Dependant of the number of entrants this competition this could be a straight knock-out or league type competition with each player playing every other player.
